Materuni Waterfalls is one of the most beautiful natural attractions near Moshi,
located on the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. This day trip combines a scenic hike,
cultural experience, and a traditional coffee tour.
You will walk through lush green landscapes, banana farms, and local villages
before reaching the stunning waterfall.
The experience also includes a hands-on coffee-making tour with the Chagga people,
where you will learn how coffee is grown, processed, and prepared in a traditional way.
Your day begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Moshi. You will drive to Materuni Village, located at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro.
Upon arrival, you will register and meet your local guide before starting your hike.
Enjoy a guided hike through beautiful landscapes, small farms, and forest paths. The walk takes about 45 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on your pace.
Once you reach the waterfall, you can relax, take photos, and even swim in the natural pool (optional).
After the hike, return to the village and enjoy a traditional homemade lunch prepared by the local community.
After lunch, take part in a traditional coffee-making experience. Learn how coffee is processed from bean to cup using local methods.
Enjoy singing and dancing with the locals during the coffee preparation process!
After the experience, you will drive back to your hotel in Moshi, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening.
