Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Moshi town. Meet your guides and porters, check your equipment, and attend a detailed briefing covering the itinerary, safety, and trekking tips. Overnight in Moshi allows you to rest, hydrate, and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Start trekking from Rongai Gate into the dense rainforest. The forest is rich with wildlife, tall trees, and cascading streams. Trek gradually to Simba Camp (2,950m), allowing your body to acclimatize while enjoying the serene environment and scenic views.
Trek through the moorland zone with sparse vegetation and unique giant lobelias. Pass by volcanic rock formations and enjoy distant views of the Kenyan plains. Reach Second Cave Camp (3,750m) in the afternoon for rest, acclimatization, and optional short hikes to explore the surroundings.
Ascend gently across the moorlands and rolling hills, enjoying expansive panoramic views. Reach Kikelewa Camp (4,600m), where the altitude begins to challenge your stamina. Rest, hydrate, and take short acclimatization walks to prepare for higher elevations.
Trek through alpine desert landscapes towards Mawenzi Tarn Camp (4,800m), with views of the jagged Mawenzi peak. The terrain is rugged and dramatic, providing excellent photo opportunities and preparing the body for the summit climb.

Begin the pre-dawn summit climb to Uhuru Peak (5,895m) for an unforgettable sunrise. Celebrate your achievement and descend via Barafu to Mweka Camp (3,100m), reflecting on the challenging but rewarding journey.
Complete the descent to Mweka Gate where certificates are awarded. Transfer back to Moshi for showers, meals, and relaxation. Conclude your eight-day Rongai Route adventure and prepare for onward travel.
