This 5-day budget safari combines the highlights of Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and Tarangire National Parks. Experience unforgettable game drives, iconic landscapes, and diverse wildlife including the Big Five, all on a budget-friendly adventure.
Day 1 — Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Depart Arusha early and drive to Tarangire National Park. Enjoy an afternoon game drive, spotting large elephant herds, giraffes, zebras, and the iconic baobab trees. In the evening, check into your budget lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2 — Tarangire to Serengeti National Park
Enjoy a morning game drive in Tarangire before departing for Serengeti National Park. Along the way, drive through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands. Arrive in central Serengeti in the afternoon for your first game drive, spotting lions, cheetahs, elephants, and antelopes. Dinner and overnight at camp.
Day 3 — Full Day Serengeti Game Drives
Spend the entire day exploring the Serengeti plains. Morning and afternoon game drives with your guide take you to areas with abundant wildlife including lions, leopards, elephants, and large herds of zebras and wildebeest. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the savannah and return to camp in the evening.
Day 4 — Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
Depart Serengeti after breakfast and drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Ascend to the crater rim for panoramic views. Optional afternoon cultural visit to a Maasai village before settling at your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5 — Ngorongoro Crater & Return to Arusha
Early morning descent into Ngorongoro Crater for a full-day game drive to spot lions, elephants, buffaloes, and possibly the black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch before ascending back to the rim and driving to Arusha, arriving in the afternoon for hotel or airport drop-off.
